Ahoy, me hearty! Welcome to me homepage. |

Hi, I'm Janthina. Ye may or may not know me. I be a former governor, former captain, current shopkeeper extraordinaire an' a general goofball. And I be the most fearsome punster on the seas!
These links may or may not work, depending on whether people have been barrelstoppers about pictures lately.
Hi, I'm Janthina. I stumbled onto the Azure Ocean in the middle of September 2003, and haven't looked back since. I joined up with the Yo-ho Yoyos 5 days after I started playing, and was a full officer in the crew a month later, a week or two before Midnight happened. Yar!
In the Midnight Ocean, our flag changed from Opulence with queen Sorceress, to flag Looterati with Prime Minister Monarch High Overlord Spinn. We recruited several awesome witty crews, all of whom I was proud to call my flagmates. Due to my penchant for loading and firing cannons a lot, Spinn gave me the title of "Gunner" in the crew YHY, which was a rather proud moment for me.
After a while, I found myself lonelier and lonelier at the strange late hours I be keepin', and subsequently found myself recruited into the dread group of the Black Death. I spent the summer there, running the crew's tailor and weavery with my crewmate Chernabog, and swordfighting a lot.
There was a big to-do over Turtle Island in August, and after two blockades, the folks over in Tyr's Own took the island from Hades and they made me governor. Wow!
At the end of the summer, several BD mates split off to form their own crew, Llyr's Pact. I joined them after a while, and helped start the flag Carpe Noctem. We celebrated our greatest victory by successfully blockading the Islay of Luthien. I proudly rode into battle with Kuibbles and our friends and allies to take the island.
After a while, I realized CN wasn't really the place for me, and I went solo. Using the money I had made from my apothecary stall, I was able to buy a tailor and weavery of my very own on Endurance island. Also, in a temporary lapse of sanity, I accepted a random crew invite from dear Cioj, so I spent several months crewed in the Fifth Fist of the Misfits. They were a fun group for quite some time, until a lot of the original folks dropped out of the game.
In the spring and summer of 2005, I got a new job in real life and started really losing interest in the game. I bought a tailor on Jorvik and renamed it "Turban Outfitters". I sold my Endurance shops. I stepped down as governor of Turtle and handed it over to Curule and his flag. I set up a weavery-tailor-apoth route between Cranberry, Jorvik, and Turtle, and for several weeks only logged in for 10 minutes a day to do shop stuff.
After a while, I decided to officially come back to Looterati (rather than playing my alt there occasionally). And so I came full circle: once more, the reigning Gunner of the Yo-ho Yoyos. Go figure.
Of course, then the Great Looterati Unification happened, where all the crews got combined due to none of them ever having enough people online to accomplish anything. Did that work out? No, it really didn't -- even combined, there weren't enough people online.
By this point, in real life, I had moved to Japan, so I went solo yet AGAIN, treating Puzzle Pirates as a nice way to waste an hour or two playing puzzle games, since I had no consoles to play games on with me there. Hearties ruled over crew -- much easier to choose whether you feel like dealing with other people when you're solo.
And then Cursed Islands came about, and I started spending all of my time with the Made of Fail crew to do CI runs. One day, as a joke, one of them gave me a crew offer, and I figured, why the scupper not? and accepted it.
By the time I update this page again, I'm sure the story will be completely different. But hey, after seven or eight years on the puzzley seas, does it really matter?
